Is Whistler well known and a household name outside of BC and in USA?

Never having lived outside of BC where whistler is something so common, I was wondering if southern states or east Canada ever talk about it or know about it

It is known in Australia and new Zealand. Quite a few Australians and New Zealanders go there and work. we have seen Whistler on our holiday programmes.

I’m not a Skier, I’m in Quebec but I have certainly heard of Whistler and I had heard of it long before it was chosen as an Olympic venue.

Everyone knows that Whistler is THE place to go for skiing! People from my area (who can afford it) got there for winter vacation sometimes.

Most people who ski or snowboard know it as a ski resort, but word is getting out that it’s a great golf territory, too.

All of us Ontario skiers love Whistler.
We don’t have anything that compares.
