whistler is notoriously expensive to live/rent and very short of housing. Hopefully you graduate after 2010 Olympics. Then all the Athletes village will be available to convert to employee housing, plus all kinds of housing being built now for accommodation during the games.

Otherwise, if coming earlier, look for a place to live FIRST. Then go get your job.

Whistler, British Columbia, is a Canadian resort town in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains, approximately 125 km north of Vancouver. Incorporated as a resort municipality, Whistler has a permanent population of approximately 9,965.

Over two million people visit Whistler annually, primarily for its world-famous alpine skiing and mountain biking at Whistler-Blackcomb. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler will host most of the alpine and sledding events.

Whistler is the Host Mountain Resort of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the first time the IOC has bestowed that designation on a community. Whistler will host the alpine technical and speed events, the sliding events, the Nordic events in nearby Callaghan Valley and all the Paralympic events except the opening ceremonies, sledge hockey and wheelchair curling. The Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Village (commonly referred to as the Athlete’s village) will house around 2,400 athletes, coaches, trainers and officials. Construction is well underway, plans and blueprints are being finalized for the athlete housing and village. Post-games, the site will be turned into a new residential neighbourhood. During the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the resort will host the alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, ski jumping, bobsleigh, luge and skeleton. Whistler, as the main focus of the 2010 Olympics, will undergo massive changes in order to create the sport venues and house the athletes and staff. Millions of dollars have been put aside to cut the drive from Vancouver to whistler on the Sea to Sky highway down to about an hour. Other money will go towards upkeep of stadiums and renovations on local mountains in and around Vancouver.

i recently stayed at: Mountanside Lodge whistler
they were having a great special from may-july only 89$ a night!! The room was nice and it was really close to the mountain.

Never having lived outside of BC where whistler is something so common, I was wondering if southern states or east Canada ever talk about it or know about it
